Almost a Good Critique??

This is a critique for Chloe, our 8 year old puppy She only does one or two shows a year cos she is just so bad and an embarrassment


The pups grandmother & graduates mum & does show type through, but improvements on each generation going forward. Lovely old girl with nice temperment & happy tail & once settled was very sound with good ground coverage. Black not in the best of coats & carrying a little too much weight. Nice head, fraction heave but feminine, kind eye of good colour.


That is a very good critique, she has her faults of course, but she's a nice dog. Her daughter and grandaughter won their classes too But can we assume the "happy tail" and "once settled" was the judges way of saying she was a NAUGHTY DOG She loves showing, but at this one she actually did her naughty shoudler thing (one shoulder on the ground, bum in the air, while judge is going over her ) and then had THREE attempts at the triangle cos she was bounding round the ring

If the poor judge is reading this, thank you so much for the lovely critique, it was far better than the badly behaved old lady deserved

I always got ONCE SETTLED when I used to show Maddy, every time, to be fair she was only in the ring from 6 - 9 months before she was attacked and consequently retired early. She'd still get it now though, such an excitable lady even at 3!

I have had a few critiques like that....nice but cutting I call them lol,

yes once settled generally you see in the puppy classes don't you! Nothing wrong with an 8 year old puppy!

if you think how much better she is now though.. she could be in the ring again in a year or so without hasstle

I never filled in her op form thingamajig so she can go back in the ring after her spay. She could but she'd still get 'once settled'. Worst time was when the judge did the critiques at the line-up on a dictaphone and SAID it to my face!

John Dunhills a nightmare when you get a critique off him, he has the dictaphone, the digi cam the works.. hes not an easy man to please, I dreaded my critique for holly coming out into the paper,.... I have to say I was quite surprised how light I got off lol

I think that's a very nice critique. As for "once settled" - I don't think Marius would ever get that in his, he doesn't do settled!!!
