I'd never expect to see a swan at the beach! Well done for good recall!
If I can't get mine on lead the second I see a swan I start running in the opposite direction like a looney to get my two away. Hubby thinks I'm mad but a swan broke my uncle's arm, it would easily snap a JRT's neck!

I know what you mean. I was a bit nervous, myself. I also knew somebody who was attacked, and broke their arm.
Keep those little Doggies Safe. Thank you for your lovely comments!

Amazing two members on here with personal experience of swans 'breaking someone's arm' yet that is said to be a total myth about them. Probably said to keep children well away!

My experience was really nasty, for the Swan. They were Hells angel's, and one of them decided to Fight the swan. The Hells Angel's killed the poor thing, but the Thug did suffer a broken arm!!! ( Shame it wasn't more serios!)

marley likes to play chicken with the swans where i fish,
he gets the swans to follow him up the bank, runs back down and crosses the water before they catch up, then back again,
they are used to us now and he has been very close to them before, i feel confident they wouldnt hurt him, they both take bread from my hand and spend most of the time we are there in my swim staying close to us

Marley sound's well sussy! I don't think the Swan's want to hurt anything. They are just protective. Most Dog's would be ok, and quick enough to get away. I do love 'em!
