Pereg's blood test results!

Tzahi has just telephoned me with the results of the blood tests that had to be sent to an outside laboratory following last Thursday's vampire attack on Pereg - and I am so happy - sitting here with a mahoosive grin on my face!

The tests they did at the surgery while we were there were all absolutely great, the major ones being liver function and then kidney function, and the ones sent away were for Pb levels and the Thyroid panel. And they are as near perfect as I could wish for!

Pb [phenobarbitone] was 24.2 [levels should be between 15-40] which means she had a good level in her blood but more importantly that the Pb can be safely increased if necessary. Some of the thyroid levels were a bit low, but they are the ones that are a result of her having to take Pb, but the important one, the Free T4, was 24.4 [normal levels being 6.7 - 34.7] which is up on her last test at 16.9

In other words my beloved Pereg is doing great!

It is just about a year since I joined Dogsey - soon after Pereg's epilepsy was diagnosed and when I was devastated by it.

Everyone helped me come to terms with it - I learned such a lot about diet and how it could help - you all got me through the terrible times, including the last diabolical 36 hours of clustering when I was almost ready to give up on her.

Pereg is still epileptic, whatever the blood test results show. But she is, so far, one of the lucky ones who have not had any adverse effects from the Phenobarbitone. So far. Which is why the blood tests were so important and which is why I am so happy with the results.

Somehow my sleep deprivation is not so important any more, because I know that giving Pereg her medication at the times she has to have it is keeping her well and, as things are at the moment, keeping her seizure-free. I am fully aware that this could change any moment, but as of now my beloved Pereg is fine!

KOKO my bubbeleh - Keep On Keeping On.
