Look what my husband did with his fortnight off!

He's such an angel He knocked down the old and crumbling retaining wall, took up the old and very horrible patio, lowered the ground level by at least 4 inches to expose the airbricks, built a new retaining wall, laid the new patio and still kept cheerful the whole time! By my calculations he shifted at least 5 tonnes of material over the course of the operation and I'm very relieved he didn't screw his back!

Clearly we have a bit of landscaping to do around the lawn and beds, but this is soooooo much of an improvement, and the areas a real suntrap in the middle of the day









And let's have a gratuitous enlargement of Bongo

Oh that is wonderful, can I borrow him cos I have been waiting about 6 or 7 years for my o/h to rebuild a wall that is falling down and he STILL hasn't got round to it Bongo is absolutely gorgeous :smt007 :smt007 :smt007

Ha-ha! Thanks you lot, but I'm afraid he's sworn never to do anything of the sort again. He didn't realise how much work it was going to be, but at least he's got something to show for it, and to be proud of
