I was wondering if you could make your printer wireless so i could print from different computers in different rooms. We have a wireless internet router but not a wireless network is this still possible????

Thanks Tom

You can get wireless print servers - they usually have parallel ports though. I do remember seeing a USB wireless print server sometime ago - will look to see if I can find it again.

They weren't cheap though

Some wireless routers have built-in print servers, so check yours for a connection.

Here are some USB wireless print servers to look at:

With any print server, you may not be able to utiliise some of the special functions of your printer - the print server doesn't have the ability to utilise the special drivers that you may be able to install on your operating system. Check with the print server manufacturer whether it can work with your printer.

Sorry, I meant your wireless internet router - see if there any USB/parallel ports on it (or look at the manual).

If you look at the internet router does it have any ports on it which look like a USB port or parallel printer port ?

What make/model is the internet router ?

Also, does the printer use a USB or a parallel cable ?

That one doesn't have a built-in print server.

Looks like you'll have to look for a separate one (see link given previously).
