It usually means that yes, but you should check with your insurers as they are a crafty bunch!

As Becky said check your policy. It generally does mean that yes you can drive any other car (with owner permission of course!) and have 3rd party, fire and theft cover.

I can drive *any* car with Direct Line...but only if I really need to.
I have always been fully comp, but couldn't drive any car on it till I turned 23.
It's best if you phone the company and ask.
Direct Line said to me only in an emergency etc.

Thats right you can drive any car with owners permission but I thought it was third party only,or it use to be when I worked in insurance. Also check the type of car engine size etc., because if you are under 30 or 25 there will be some types of car you would not be allowed to drive

Lyn is right - you are only insured 3rd party on other cars (if you're allowed to drive them).

As I said - I've been driving for 6 years - always had fully comp, but only just been allowed to drive others 3rd party on my insurance.

When you drive someone elses car with their permission then you only have third party cover unless your policy states other wise.

With my insurance company, I can drive any other car so long as I notify my insurance comapany first

I have always been fully comp, but it is restricted to 3rd party when I drive another vehicle.
