Morning - Dogsey Daily Thread- Thursday

Morning all Dogsey Peops

Jesus Christ, what a heavy old frost we've got out there today My car looks like it's had a white respray, and the snow is rock solid now that it's half melted, this won't be an easy walk for me this morning. I might risk my neck and slide down the hill in the car to get to the beach, it could be the safest option, but hopefully, the sun will do its job before I get out with Zena.

I'm hoping that van isn't frozen up, that'll be a shock when I get up there this morning, I don't want frozen pipes with new carpet laid and guests arriving Saturday do I

Was busy catching up with friends last night on the phone so didn't manage to get back on here, but I see you've had yet more bad news with Gill there Lynn. I'm so sorry, what with everything else, it couldn't get any worse for you could it.xxx

Dave was quite chirpy on the phone last night, even though he's got mountains of work related problems, I just hope he doesn't bring them all home with him and share them all again with me, but he probably will I look at it this way, it's a job, and jobs are hard to find at the moment, so as long as he can keep the place going and earn a bit, then so be it. I told him our neighbour said to me yesterday that he could get him a job over this way with a pal of his who owns a garage here, and instead of poo poo'ing the idea, he actually said, it might be something to think about when the new lease comes up, cos I think he's really fed up with it over there. It's not the travelling, it's his staff, who can't seem to get to grips with it when he's not there, so consequently, when he does get there, he spends a whole day sorting out their mess instead of getting on with the jobs that are coming in, and so it goes on. Hey ho, it can only get better.

Hope all is well with everyone who's been suffering with colds along with anything else, and hope you aren't snowed in anywhere. This time last year we were bathing in sunshine at 18 deg weren't we, but it doesn't look like that's gonna happen any day soon.

Enjoy your day whatever you're up to

Morning H and all

It's bitterly cold here too and longing for a bit of warmth.

I hope you make it to the beach with Zena and that the van has escaped any damage. Poor Dave, he can do without worrying if his staff are keeping things under control.

I hope Gills problem turns out to be nothing to worry about, it just seems to go on for you doesn't it Lynn.

I am taking my cousin out today, flowers on parents graves, a bit of retail therapy and then hopefully a couple of hours continuing to work on the bungalow. We really need to get it up together now for the rental market. He is still talking about moving back to Aldershot but seems to realise he can't go back to his home. I have enquired about live in help but sadly it is so expensive it's not an option.

I hope you all have a good day today.

Morning Helena we have a hard frost here too but without the snow.
Be careful whatever you decide to do with regard to the Zena walk and everything crossed the van isn't frozen.
Sorry to hear Dave still has work related problems I hope he doesn't bend your ear too much with them.
Sounds like your neighbour's suggestion may be worth thinking about for him.

Not a lot on today a friend is ringing for chat this afternoon and I am hoping to get through the day with no negatives. There will probably be no positives either but a rest from any negative news, letters etc., will do me fine. I am beginning to think I must of done something awful in a previous life.

I hope all those feeling under the weather are feeling better today.
Better go get the kettle on for Gorden do his breakfast and lunch and feed Dillon.

See you all later and take care out there.

Morning Gerry, it's so sad that your cousin cannot return to that lovely bungalow, but he will benefit from the proceeds if you rent it out, so good luck with that. Retail therapy sounds good, so enjoy your day

Morning Lynn, try and think of all the positives now, you're getting the house on the market, they'll be queueing up to view it cos there's not much about and they all have a waiting list for houses like yours, and then you'll get an offer and be able to put one down on that lovely house you've found in Lincs. I'm sure Gorden will hear before the week-end about the job, so that's two positives! I was so sorry to read about Gill and her problems, but hopefully, it's nothing to worry about once she's seen the specialist again. You need that chat with a friend I think Lynn, nothing like a good shoulder to cry on and let it all out.xxxx ((((((((((hugs)))))))))

Off for a walk now, I hope I don't break anything, but I've decided on the woods instead of taking the car out, the road looks too iffy for my liking downhill!

Morning H and all,

My goodness its freeeezing out there. Please be careful wherever you decide to go with Zena H and I hope the van hasn't frozen. I do think your neighbours idea sounds a very good one too.

Lynn I really hope you have a quiet and peaceful day free of worry today my goodness you need one.

We, well at least Charly and her boyfriend Ash have a huge dilemma to face because of the army, a no win situation really whatever happens. I can't go into details publicly on here but my goodness I do feel for them and hardly slept last night worrying about it all.

Another very busy day for me, its been a busy week, I havn't stopped to catch a breath since doing all that decorating last Sunday.

Anyway hope you all have a good day. Take care.

Morning Helena, Moet, Lynn and fellow members,

Very cold here too and a stunning white frost but I'm not complaining as the sun is out. I was out in the garden with them at 5 this morning but not because they needed to go but they must have heard a fox. However after then finally going to the loo and have a small amount of there breakfast they then went back to sleep. I did finally after I'd thawed out. Changed my alarm time to 7.45 and would you believe it, my OH's mobile range at 6.40. It was out fuel delivery letting us know that they were reversing up our drive Talk about early ....... but better that than run out of oil. Decided to get up and sort the dogs. I'm definitely in for a nanny nap later

Helena - I hope you manage to get Zena out for her walk and the van isn't frozen up. Do be careful on that ice .... I don't think your household would run as well if you weren't at the helm

Moet - I hope the outing with your cousin goes well and all you have to do runs smoothly.

Lynn, I hope Gill's rash disappears as quickly as it came.

I'm off to buy a paper now, too cold to walk the dogs yet. See you later.
