Glad I am not the only one that thinks feeding bones is too risky.

Hope your dog is ok Clarence.

Me too, I never feed bones we nearly lost a Scotty once who accidently got hold of a bone, it blocked her gut and was only found after operating on her. Luckily we go to her problem in time.

Thanks for the concern everyone
She doesnt normally get bones ( except for super large marrow bones which cant be gulped down ). It seems to be a piece from lamb bone.
Contacted the vet again to say I was really worried and didnt feel comfortable waiting til 5 as it was trying to pass through but was stuck and causing discomfort- poor little babe.
They took her in then and under anaesthetic they removed it . It was about 1 inch long but was trying to pass through horizontally and not vertically - hence the discomfort. She seems ok now . Has passed another poo without any discomfort ( sorry to be so graphic) . Just so relieved now and glad I happened to be with her when it tried to pass through !

Close call Clarence, I'm so glad she's okay! I read once that everyone should keep some heavy cream or half and half around. If a dog eats glass or something dangerous, to soak cotton balls in half and half and feed. They will coat around whatever sharp the dog has ingested. I got that from Top Dogs site. If you ever have a serious problem again, post the question there. The owner really knows all kinds of great things...

So glad everything is okay now.

I heard the thing with cuttonballs, when I thought my cat had swallowed a rubberband. I should "feed" it pieces of cotton the size of a pea or asparagus (canned I think)
