yup iits a beat 2, its only o nrelease to prossionals for testing purpose so microsoft can get a genenral feel for it and any bugs before the official release

I tired it on a spare PC, found it to be really slow

so wiped it off and installed Linux!! Which is FREE and comes with lots of software! I used SUSE linux which is meant to be very similar to Vista.

It's ridiculous how much processing power the new operating systems need, the OS is only there to run programs but now is turning into a major program itself.
Vista is too flashy with unnecessary Graphic special effects.

We've been messing with Linux and Vista on a new 42" plasma screen at work. We're using the screen to show network outages/traffic. Very impressive.

Vista will be on general release to the public in early 2007 what fred has got is the beta test version you can get it from the microsoft vista site you can also see if your current system can take Vista

Basic requirements to run vista
A modern processor (at least 800MHz1).
512 MB of system memory.
A graphics processor that is DirectX 9 capable
