Puppy Jabs

Hi everyone,

My 10 week old pup Icon had his first jab last week, and I was expecting to be told to coming back for the second after two weeks, but I wasn't I was told I have to wait 3 weeks and then keep him in for another 2 weeks after that. I found this really strange, as my other three dogs, we were told 2 weeks between jabs and I could take them to classes etc where other dogs have been jabbed and walk them places where other dogs haven't been, or down the beach near the water....

The problem I have, is I have a puppy course of lessons that I REALLY want to attend starting two days before the day he is due for his last jab, and its 10 weeks long - so if I miss the starting point, I'll have to wait 10 weeks before he can start, and I'm sure everyone will agree - 10 weeks in a puppy's lifetime is a long time, and he would benefit so much from this.

I don't know what to do, I spoke to the vet nurse yesterday after the puppy party (see thread in general dog chat!) and she said that because of his age he has to wait until he's 12 weeks old? Has anyone else had to wait this long between jabs?

Thanks all!

Thats what I thought, I've been taking him out with me, we've been visiting children, adults, dogs etc, but I've had to carry him - he's ok now, a bit heavy, but there is no way that in 4 weeks time I'll be able to carry him!!!!!!

Thats what I had always had, 8 and 10 wks, covered!

I'm really irritated as the vet is saying no they won't do it at 11 wks, and I've paid for the full course!

We had Murphy done at 8 and 10 weeks, and we can officially take him out at 11 weeks old (today!)

He has been all over though, mostly carried, he has met other dogs (who we know are vaccinated etc)
