It's Nero eating his dinner, he always eats like this, he even sleeps in the bedroom with his head on the edge of the water bowl.

When he was a puppy, as soon as he come off the teats he was the only one in the litter who did this, he used to sleep like that whilst the others were sleeping with their mum.

I think it's an instinctive action on his part to make sure he was at the feeding bowl when they all woke up, strange innit.
