please dont drink and drive (sad)

Please read all the way to the bottom and sign your
name:
>
>I went to a party,
>And remembered what you said.
>You told me not to drink, Mum
>So I had a sprite instead.
>I felt proud of myself,
>The way you said I would,
>That I didn't drink and drive,
>Though some friends said I should.
>I made a healthy choice,
>And your advice to me was right,
>The party finally ended,
>And the kids drove out of sight.
>I got into my car,
>Sure to get home in one piece,
>I never knew what was coming, Mum
>Something I expected least.
>Now I'm lying on the pavement,
>And I hear the policeman say,
>The kid that caused this wreck was drunk, Mum, his voice seems far
>away.
>My own blood's all around me,
>As I try hard not to cry.
>I can hear the paramedic say,
>This girl is going to die.
>I'm sure the guy had no idea,
>While he was flying high,
>Because he chose to drink and drive,
>Now I would have to die.
>So why do people do it, Mum
>Knowing that it ruins lives?
>And now the pain is cutting me,
>Like a hundred stabbing knives.
>Tell sister not to be afraid, Mum
>Tell daddy to be brave,
>And when I go to heaven,
>Put "Daddy's Girl" on my grave.
>Someone should have taught him,
>That it's wrong to drink and drive.
>Maybe if his parents had,
>I'd still be alive.
>My breath is getting shorter, Mum
>I'm getting really scared.
>These are my final moments,
>And I'm so unprepared.
>I wish that you could hold me Mum,
>As I lie here and die.
>I wish that I could say, "I love you, Mum!"
>So I love you and good-bye.

i hate it when people drink and drive, i see it far to often they jus dont care
my mum used to drink and drive every day, didnt care if anythin bad happened, some people r jus selfish! She even got caught for it but got away with it by lying in court. grrrrrrr....
have u seen that advert bout it.. where there are 2 guys in pub drinking and jokin bout it etc. then a woman comes over and suddenly their table turns into a car and they run her over. That advert makes me shudder every time its such an eye opener!

I work in a restaurant and see lots of people who drink and then get in their cars to drive little do they know that as soon they leave I phone the police with all their details we offer to phone taxis for anyone who wants them. In my mind if you kill someone by drink driving its murder, if you pick up a gun point it at someone and pull the trigger you know you might kill them same as getting into a car with too much to drink. I believe if you drive you shouldnt even have one drink.

It is very sad and it brings it home to you reading the poem, the problem is many of those who still drink and drive would not pay attention to anyone's petition. People who are caught could do serving community service in an A&E department to make them thing.

What hurts me inside is that so many of the drunk killers are teens. Here in the US, teens everywhere drink and then get into their cars and drive away, just to be cool. In fact, just before school let out for the holidays, I heard a group of boys walking through the hallway quacking about how they are going to "paaaaartyyyy". Its such a sad thing to think that I might never see those boys again or I might never see one of my best friends who was driving on the road and was killed by one of them.

Its such a shame, they know it in their minds that it's bad and dangerous, but they just don't care.

It's one thing that I don't ever do.

A few years ago, I saw a 10 yr old girl get mowed down by a 19 yr old drink driver. There's times still, when I look at my own 10 yr old, I see this childs face staring back at me.
