I've just remembered another song that I absolutely LOVE and thats Stings - Shape Of My Heart. The words sang along with the acoustic guitar is very Haunting..

He deals the cards as a meditation
And those he plays never suspect
He doesn't play for the money he wins
He doesn't play for the respect
He deals the cards to find the answer
The sacred geometry of chance
The hidden law of probable outcome
The numbers lead a dance

I know that the spades are the swords of a soldier
I know that the clubs are weapons of war
I know that diamonds mean money for this art
But that's not the shape of my heart

He may play the jack of diamonds
He may lay the queen of spades
He may conceal a king in his hand
While the memory of it fades

I know that the spades are the swords of a soldier
I know that the clubs are weapons of war
I know that diamonds mean money for this art
But that's not the shape of my heart
That's not the shape, the shape of my heart

And if I told you that I loved you
You'd maybe think there's something wrong
I'm not a man of too many faces
The mask I wear is one
Those who speak know nothing
And find out to their cost
Like those who curse their luck in too many places
And those who fear are lost

I know that the spades are the swords of a soldier
I know that the clubs are weapons of war
I know that diamonds mean money for this art
But that's not the shape of my heart
That's not the shape of my heart

I really like Sacrifice by Elton John and The First Time Ever I saw Your Face but I can't remember who that was by, I heard it on the telly the other night and it brought back some lovely memories.

OMG how could I forget this one? I LOVE this song - it's Roberta Flack; used to make me cry and I want to go and listen to it now.

Oh lord....
So many, so very many...and embarassingly so many that reduce me, a 40something ex truck driving, ex army, ex paramedic gardener, six feet one, to a blubbering sobbing wreck....

*Who's gonna drive you home?* byThe Cars...if you're old enough to remember the video over this song at the original LiveAid concert, you'd know why.

*I'll walk with God* by Mario Lanza...one of my mothers favourite songs, and one we wanted, and failed to get played at her funeral.

*White Christmas* Bing Crosby...I love the film, but for some reason the final sequence has me in bits...when they open the doors to see snow...thats it, get me the tissues!

*Eidelweiss* Christoper Plummer...As he sings this in Salzburg in the square and his voice breaks when he realises this will be the last time he's ever there...*Gulp*...I've stood in that square and had to use a draining rod to get the lump out of my throat...

ANd, okay, not a song, but hands up*any* of you who have seen the final scene of the final episode of Blackadder goes forth, where the slomo scene of the lads going over the top segues into a field of poppies, and have not sobbed at the idea of such a stupid STUPID loss of life...

Damn....NURSE! The Kleenex!
*Snivel*

i have literally hundreds won't post them all though...

there are some that have special meaning for me because of times gone by - or people/pets lost... Don't wanna miss a thing by aerosmith - i can't listen to it at all - as it was 'our song' before my fiance died

other than that - there are loads - erm... anything really by captain beefheart...

and James Taylor's "you've got a freind" because of Mickey... I didn't put this montage up here..

have a look...

Whats really weird is hearing a 6 year old girl sing his songs
I cry at the video every time..

(I picked Cruiser's KC name.. hence he is Snowolf Walk The Line)
