Emmerdale signpost query

At the end of part 1 and the start of part 2 on Emmerdale, there is a shot of a road sign. It has "Emmerdale" across the middle, around the top is "YORKS WR" which I DO understand, but around the bottom is a number - can anyone tell me what that means?????

Well it looks very like that from what I can recall, except I don't remember seeing the "point" after the 97....

I think it a Ordnance Survey number. My Mum lives not far from there and a lot of the countryside sign posts have them

Might be completly wrong though

WR might be an old West Riding sign, yorks is short for Yorkshire I think but not altogether sure.

Yes, as I said, I do know what the YORKS and WR stand for, it's the number that's puzzling me......
