Diary of a Dairy Maid!

Nest time you open that posh packet of butter spare a thought for the Dairy Maid!
That's me by the way, to top up my earnings I'm doing a part time Christmas job at the local dairy farm! It's a mere 5 minute walk from my front door, I only work in 3 hour shifts and it's one of those lovely mindless jobs where you don't have to think you just do! Hygiene is a must which apparently means I have to have more than one bath a year, tsk!
Yesterday I had to hand wrap and pack Goats Butter, yes some butters are still hand made and wrapped, and today we did the first run for Sparks and Mencer Organic Butter, Have a whole day of it tomorrow, well 2, 3 hour shifts with an hour break in between so the dogs still get their 3 walks a day!
So if you eat any butter over the crimble period it could have been hand wrapped and packed by me, and yes I did wash my hands!
Becky

Around this time of year it always helps to have a few extra pennies. Sounds like not too bad a job as well. Mind you I'm intrigued to know how they check your bathtimes

Sounds great, I love the feeling of making things and seeing what you have produced at the end of a shift. x
