Rio was spayed today at the 4th attempt

The first time she went in the vet said he thought her season was imminent so the op was postponed and she came into season a couple of days later. Two months from the end of the season we booked her in again.
The second attempt was postponed as she was apparently having a phantom and was lactating although there were no obvious signs or symptoms. She was given galastop for 10 days to sort it out and rebooked in for 14 days.
The third attempt was postponed as although the phantom had passed and she was no longer lactating, her lymph glands were swollen indicating an infection, so she was given antibiotics for a week and rebooked for today. Frankly I was beginning to think she was trying to tell me something, even the vet commented that she obviously wanted puppies and wasn't giving in easily.
The fourth attempt seems to have been successful and straightforward. Picked her up at 4pm she came out of the vets at her usual 90mph so its going to be fun keeping her quiet. We're currently taking it in turns to sit with her so that she can have the bucket off her head for a while, but so far it seems to have escaped her notice that she has undergone an operation.

Oh bless her, if you don't want her to wear the bucket put an old swimming costume on her (with hole cut for tail obviously!)

She's wearing an old t shirt at the minute, but really seems totally unfazed by it all.
