Kennel cough at the vets

I was at the vets yesterday and sat waiting for an hour to see the vet. When this man and women brought a dog in, i didnt hear this but apparently the owners said they think it had kennel cough but they let it sniff my puppy. So if she gets it i know were it came from. This is the second time this has happened, you would think they was a back way to take dogs that had something contagious.

same thing here Tracey, My Jazz has it, i rang them and told them but they still said i had to take her in but to keep her in the car, i did, when we were called they made us walk through the surgery and there were 3 other dogs there and che did cough on her way through, i felt bad and angry that the vets made me even go in !! i now feel that by doing this they are spreading the disease themselves and therefore making more money !!!

Last time my dogs had it i did the same as you Emma, i kept them in the car then when the vet had to see them i ran through trying to keep them away from the other dogs. I got some really funny looks off people they must have thought i was mad.

Our vet has an appointment only system which is good for things like that.

Even when you bring a pup for its first jabs you have to make an appointment so they are not in contact with ill dogs and cats.

Can't complain about my vet. If you think you have anything contagious they ask you to wait in the car til the vets ready for you - then you go in the back way.
