Insurance

I am wondering if i should get dog insurance, do any policies cover things like regular vet visits- or is it only for big operations etc?
My vets has a members scheme where you pay £90 for the year and all appointment fees are then covered- you just pay for any treatments or medication you may need.
I like the idea as then you can just pop along to the vet for any minor thing that you want to ask about.......
If I am going to do this should I not bother with insurance, or do both, or will some insurance cover minor vet visits anyway..........?????
