You were discussing the dogs biting owners when they are asleep. There was a woman in America a few years ago that tried to commit suicide and her lab pawed at her face until she had awful injuries. She had the poor dog pts. BUT he would have been trying to wake up his owner. No aggression intended. (Also, she should have been told, before you do yourself in find a good home for your dog.) Also, do you think that dogs go for their owner when they are asleep because the owner is snoring or making noises? I do.

An elderly lady we know, who lives on her own, fell unconscious at home and when she was treated in hospital she had scratches on her face from her King Charles Spaniel trying to wake her up. She is OK and still has her dog because she understood what he was trying to do.

My opinion is that these dogs do not mean aggression.

If my two didnt sleep with my son some nights he wouldnt be here today.Last year he had a severe asthma attack out of the blue in the middle of the night.Archie and Kia saved his life no doubt,Kia came into my room and woke me by licking my face and whinning, she wouldnt stop so got up as thought she neeeded a pee,she ran straight to Joshs room where i found Archie cuddled next to him and licking his face.
He didnt even have the strenght to shout me and was turning grey/blue around his lips.Josh was fine after been nebulised.
I thank god that i allow my dogs to sleep on our beds.

I would like to say I adore all the pics, they all brought a smile to my face!

We couldn't have a dog as kids - my parents didn't have the time, but my family had them, and I loved wlaking my aunties Sheltie!

I may not be able to have kids, but if I do, I will still have dogs, as I couldn't live without having dogs as part of my life.
