I go to Flyball with Max, we train with the Flyde Coasters, so not far from you!

We've only just done our beginners course but Max has been pretty good at it.

I'd like to compete eventually, but am happy doing it just fo fun!

Hi Matt

The trainers for my Good Citizen Award and local dog training classes are also (some of the) flyball trainers, so they suggested I come along to the classes.

We're just completing an indoor (winter training) course, so Max has never run in netting, as the hall we use is secure.

He's pretty good at the jumps, but doesn't really like the box yet, so gets given the ball by the box loader

We start our summer training in May, so we'll be outside and Max will be running in netting for the first time.

Shelley

oh right

we tarin a little diffrent to that let me try and explain

the netteing is not to keep the dogs "safe" it is to help them from not missing the jumps and running down the side

so we train with these nets and gradualy peel the nets back

in the starter raceing we race in the netting as this is how we tarina nd how we think is best off bringing on our dogs to compete

i am sure each club is diffrent hey ho

hope too meet up some time at a compertishion someday

Max only ever missed jumps out on his first week (and this week as he was really tired!)...

I'm not sure if Max will ever compete, although there are other Boxers on the team, but at the moment he is too wired to concentrate, and would much rather run around like a loon by himself

I'd like to start going to watch some of the local competitive events though, to get an idea of what Max would have to be like...

Hey,

Carlton towers was great fun!

We do flyball with the Cleveland's. I run Ziggie the kelpie, and my OH runs Nushka and Darcy the two GSD's. My collie goes into starters next month at Eggborough, he was bred by Natalie and has been trained outside of netting as I don't really believe in it jmvho.
