Trick to training...NO TREATS

If you want a dog that only does what you say for food, then use food to train them, if you want a dog to listen to you because they respect you for you, then praise them but never use treats. My dogs are all well trained and listen to me because I take them to where they want to be then let them free. They eat when we get home, not during the trip.

Anyone who's trained at least one dog surely knows there's more than one way to achieve results

Treats are not used in proper training, just in the training of dogs being trained by people who do not know how to train a dog in the first place.

I suggest you look at the relatively recent scientific studies regarding training to start to understand the basics of why many trainers now incorporate treats within their training protocols.

I am a trainer, and there is nothing new for me to read that is worth a cent, as I could easily write my own book at this point.
