Has anybody got any movie/series recommendations? Preferably something intelligent with more to the story than just a boring old gorefest - serious or funny. I was tempted to add Otto for a laugh, but having read a few reviews I changed my mind. I'm not sure I'm quite ready for a gay zombie arthouse movie quite yet.
Sounds like my kind of film!

It's not a zombie movie but a survival movie of sorts - The Road is supposed to be quite good and is on my list No zombies in it though!

Good film, just don't watch it if you need cheering up,pretty bleak.

Best film I've watched recently has been The Guard, not a horror at all, but a very clever, witty film about drug smuggling in Ireland, if you liked Hamish Macbeth, you'll love this.

Yeah, I read the write up - seems a rather miserable movie

I'm having to watch Dexter, but it's not the same.
At least his wet blanket of a wife isn't in this one.
I may have to go and play Left for Dead 2 to get my zombie fix.

I've not watched Dexter in ages. I saw the first 3 series then kind of lost interest as the plot is always the same - Dexter nearly gets caught by his sister, Dexter gets caught by someone connected to the police who he kills, Dexter kills a few criminals, Dexter possibly kills/nearly kills someone innocent and gets upset by it, Dexter gets captured by serial killer antagonist of the series, overpowers/kills them, Dexter wonders if he can have human feelings after all then his love interest does a runner or buys the farm, end of series.

It's too much to hope for that many series 's.....wouldn't complain though, unless it went all Lost.

I watched the first one but lost interest after that. Did you know the guy who played Sparty in the first series died of Cancer, poor guy, he seemed like a nice person.
