New Dog.

As some of you may know we were hoping to get a puppy next year but the woman over the road is having to give her dog up because she can't handle her any more. So she has asked if we would like to take her as I walk her with Fido every day.
She is a lovely girl but has no training at all (I mean nothing won't even come to her nam in the house) so it should be an interesting few months ahead but i'm looking forward to it.
I'm going to take her to the vet to get her check out on tuesday
She told me she is a welsh spaniel but looks like a english cocker spaniel to me (but i know nothing about spaniels lol)

Guess I better hit the net.

Good luck with her, she looks like a cocker spaniel to me too, they are great little dogs.
I'm sure you will have a lot of fun ahead, what's her name?

Good luck with the training! I love your original dog too, by the way

I haven't heard of a welsh spaniel just a welsh springer spaniel, and she definitely is not a springer... Oh well, cocker spaniel or not, I hope you get on well!

Her Name is Sophie. She has settled in really fast and not been any trouble so far. She will need to learn to eat faster though cause Fido had his eye on her dinner too lol.
She is a bit heavy mainly due to tooooooo much chicken and no walks. So we took her on a walk today about 9-10 miles and she is knackered
I've not had a chance to check on spaniels much but i think they have a good nose?? I was thinking about training her to sniff out things in the woods close to us. If anyone has any ideas as to what would be good for her let me know.

She looks a real sweetheart and definitely looks Cocker to me too! HOw old is she do you think or do you know??? Just that she looks to be an "oldie" to me with he grey muzzle, in which case I'm not surprised 10 miles knackered her out! It would me!!! Find out how old she is if you don't know maybe? Good luck, and well done for taking her on, such a little sweetheart, I love cockers!
