Zero - JRT x with Queen Anne Legs
Zero is a 21 month old JRT x and is currently on foster in Faringdon, Oxfordshire.
The Zero Fact File
Dog status: Zero is a very sociable and laid back dog and has been great with all dogs of varying sizes. He can be rehomed with other dogs or on his own.
Cat status: Will chase, he cannot be rehomed with cats
Child status: Good but can be excitable so would need to go with children aged 7 years plus
House training: Perfect
Home alone: Can be left for a few hours at a time but will cry at first.
Basic training: Good on the lead and is learning to recall with his foster family. Very easy to motivate for training as he loves his toys.
Could Zero be your little hero?
He is a wonderfully loving and loyal dog who is looking for an affectionate and loving new family. In the words of his foster mum, if he were a child he would be known as a 'skirt hanger'. He likes to be with his family noseying at what they are doing and accompanying them if they work on the computer, relax in the living room, go out to do some gardening. Whatever they are doing, he would like to be part of it or settled at your side at least (if you are doing something classed as boring by Zero!).
Zero can be rehomed with other dogs. he is living in foster care with two other terriers and is very good with them and is polite with dogs he meets out on walks. Equally his foster family feel he could also be happy as a single dog.
He cannot be rehomed with cats as he is far too interested in them for their safety!!!
Zero walks nicely on the lead with his harness on and is learning to recall. This training is progressing carefully and a new family would need to continue recall training once he had settled in and bonded with them.
Zero is living in foster care with children and is well behaved with them.....however, he does have one little issue which needs further work and would affect the age of children he can be rehomed with. When he is going out for a walk he can get very over excited and if someone touches him or tries to give him a cuddle and fuss he can become frustrated and mouth or nip. This is being worked on by his foster home to try to take some of the excitement out of the situation and teach him coping strategies for his frustration. He could be rehomed with children aged 7 years plus as long as the family were able to manage interacrtions bwteeen Zero and the children at the beginning of walkies time.
Zero can be left for a few hours but he does cry at first. He does not show other signs of being distressed however, he does bond closely with people and will give his little protest when they first leave him.
All Hope Rescue dogs are neutered, vaccinated, wormed, flea treated and microchipped prior to rehoming. A homecheck will be required, and you will need to come and meet the dog with your own dogs and family. Hope Rescue rehomes throughout the UK.
