worries

well i gave dogs those cow "things" for chewing. ewwww cow penis.....

there was about 3-4 cms left, something like this:

I-----------------------------I

when i wanted to take it away from Jack, but greedy sod gulped it down!

what am i to expect? blockage? will he deliver it safely? wil he digest it? should i make him throw up?

mind that he is only small parson russell...

i usually take small bits away as i dont know what happesns if it is swallowed.

Minnie loves those things, eugh! And even more she brings them to you so you can hold them for her while she chomps! I would just keep an eye on him and if he starts to look unwell i.e being subdued or being sick then id ring the vets

Keep a close eye on him over the next few days or so. Make sure that he isn't vomitting, and that he is passing faeces ok. Any straining and vomitting may indicate a blockage. Also if he goes downhill in himself, for example becomes lethargic or anything, then I would take him to the vet.

It may be a good idea just to call your vet and let them know what has happened? They will be able to give you advice on what to expect and look out for

Oh dear.

I caught Louie doing the same thing with a tripe stick, in that case the whole thing came back on the lounge carpet & we had a job trying to get it away from him again before he swallowed it whole again :smt078

I do hope that Jack suffers no ill effects xx

Dogs have surprisingly strong digestive juices, well they needed them in the wild, and he should be OK - it's when they swallow gold watches and razor blades you have to panic!!! Kath
