As far as collies go, I dont like lilacs and blues, I just think they look too washed out, and I dont like white factors generally. I do like a merle but it has to be a darker shade with a fair bit of black or red in it and not too much white, and I dont like pink noses!

I love the look of this dog, what colour would he/she be classed as?
Unusual!!?
Ibet i got that one wrong?

Love it.

As for others, I find the acceptants of colours/markings in a standard is irrelevant to me personally, if I like it I do, if I don't, I don't, it's that simple.
Wow its like an african painted dog.

Do u know the genetics? Incomplete x inactivation or mosiacism or chimerism maybe? Where's MerlinsMum!

Looks like heavy ticking on a white faced dog

In BCs, I prefer traditional markings. I occasionally like unusual markings, but it would depend on the markings themselves. I like merles, but I am quite fussy over the markings on a merle, and I like them to be quite dark. I'm not keen on very white factored dogs... although, in saying that, my aunt had a very very white factored BC, who I adored

I also prefer 'darker' colours in BCs like black and red, rather than the dilutes.

One of the things I loved about Arrow when I first saw him was that he is very symmetrical in his markings
