Maybe this is a stupid idea but what if he thorght he had company in his little home. Like a t-shirt over a hot water bottle that smells of you. Then he may feel comfortable enough to eat. I've never looked after a animal like you have before but did this for my baby bunnies when they left there mum and soon got them eating and settled.

He already has a hot water bottle that he snuggles into
This morning it looked like he had eaten about half the food he was left with overnight ,I hope he continues to eat more himself

Update on the little hog
Well he is doing really well and eating all on his own now ,he's eating about half a tin of dog food a day and is putting on weight nicely
I have found another hog too ,not as small and will prob be able to hibernate ,till then its getting as much food as it wants
