Just glad she is OK now and that everything is back to normal, whatever that passes for in your house

Hi Helena,

I hope your specialist gets to the bottom of Zena's problem very quickly. I knwo it can be horrible waiting for test results, calls from the vet etc but I've never experienced anything like that with my dogs. I can only imagine what you're going through.

I can empathise though as I think Yiannis is more or less the same age as Zena (10 months?).

Hugs & kisses from me and mine!

Laura xx

I am very new on this so I hope you don't find it inappropriate for me to comment.

I can't imagine what you are going through, I have no idea what I'd do if that happened to one of my dogs. Our thoughts are with you Helen and Zena.

I hope she make a full recovery soon. x

Yes, I'm beginning to wonder that myself June!!!! xxxxxxx

Thanks all, and thanks Ecaroline, no, it's not inappropriate it's rather nice!!!xxx

She's sleeping now which is what I wanted, I just gave her a little fish and rice so that she knows it's sleepies time, bless her heart. I have to keep her quiet the vet says right up till Monday obviously until we can rule out heart problems. I'm gonna have to google that vessavega now coz I've never heard of that!

He's ruled that hernia out with me now coz he said there aren't any serious enough blood vessels down there to make this happen, so rule that out he says.

He said it could possibly be the anaphalactic, maybe there was a wasp on that ball and that's why she didn't want to pick it up but then he also said, why the sickness with it, and she wouldn't recover as quickly as she did, well, half an hour or so, totally back to normal. So, so strange.

He also said when a dog is seriously vomiting, it can cause such pain, the abdomen rises and can cause collapse like she had, but again he said, such a sudden recovery? I'm now erring on that vessavegas because ALL the symptoms would point to that one! Off searching then before I go completely mad!!!! xxxxxx

Oh so glad to see a post from you H, I mean I aalways glad to see your posts but you know what I mean

Gee what a day you have had, huge hugs to you both. I am so glad she is back to her normal self. That trapped blood vessel thing (won't even try and spell it as I can't say it!) sounds a possibility, as that also ties in with your own theory although you were erring towards the hernia and not a condition causing it.

Unfortunately I don't think there is too much you can do till after Monday, maybe make sure that Daves phone is always charged and yours is always with you, or walk where you know others will be till Monday (not ideal I know) but iyt might just be what you need as we really don't need you being stressed on walks and of course Zena would pick up on that and both of you need to take it as easy as possible till Monday.

It sounds absolutely horrible and I can totally sympathise with that gut wrenching fear that you are going to lose a dog at a young age, BUT you didnt and Zena is probably wondering what all the fuss is about.

Just a wee thought, what about the possibility of a snake bite?it wouldn't have to be in her mouth and with all that lovely long hair you wouldn't see it on her leg, neck or chin, and the reaction from that could be pretty instant would maybe explain the gum colour and of course the raising heart as the body tried to fight the poison - oh I don't know H thats just a guess and as always we shouldn't really guess with these things but just a thought for the mixing pot.

Go put your feet up and have a cuppa

Huge hugs

xxxxxxxxxxx

Glad to hear she seem to be on the mend.

I'm sure she will be back to her usual self in no time and will go on as if it never happened.

I hope it's good new from the specialist.

I'm sure she will bounce back in no time. x
