Suspicious Behaviour

Yesterday evening, I had a few "Suspicious Behaviour" "Zone Alarm Security" warnings.

The warnings provided me with the ISP address's, which I located to a town in Florida and also Botswana. One of these definately being a Cyber Cafe.

As I understand it my security has blocked these, so I have nothing to worry about ??

Then when I logged in this morning another warning came up with another ISP and shortly afterwards a Java Binary - for files message popped up.

I have denied access for all, but can someone explain the later please if possible.

As far as I can see, Java can be used to manipulate binary files, but as long as these attacks are being blocked that should be OK. I`d run a complete scan in case they`ve left a cookie?

Sometimes you get these messages when someone is doing a global 'ping' trying to find weak computers for attack.

ZL is good at blocking these so dont worry.

Binaries (in any language) is just the raw code that is executed. The term binaries is used a lot in unix, where as executables is used in windows.

If in doubt, make sure your computer is fully up to date with windows updates, viral updates, spyware finder etc. then do a complete scan.

Otherwise, stay off the porn

ps, you cant actually get cookies n stuff like that on your computer unless you willingly go to websites.

In this day and age, its highly unlikely that someone can just 'drop' a file onto your computer without your knowledge.
