There's a lot of company freebies in these packs i.e food, insurance, leaflets, other goodies. So in reference to the other thread these cost the breeder nothing. I'm not sure if that has previously been made clear.

Theres also a lot of time, effort and money goes into these packs. Do you realise how long it takes on line to register each puppy with the insurers. Or how long we spend putti ng the packs together and shopping for the bits.
Printing the leaflets (because mine were all breed specific not from the food manufacturers) took me a whole evening to print do the covers and collate.
It seems to me we cant win, we breed do our best and some people still dont appreaciate it.

SEE POST TWO FOR A BREAK DOWN OF THE COSTS ETC wont let me multi quote

Hi there

When I got my Stella I got

A folder with all relevant documntation.
5 generation pedigree
6 week insurance that was completed wrong!!!
Microchip
1st jab and certificate
Choice of toy for her
Photographs from day she was born - weekly!!
Bag of Arden Grange
Eukaneuba puppy pack with clicker
Then I got a DVD later.
Membership details of Breed Club

When I got Ruby

I got
5 generation pedigree
Royal Canin Puppy Pack
1st Vac and certificate
Documentation
Microchip.

This was ample for me!!! As I've said before the best thing a breeder can do is find their puppies a forever, loving home. The best thing a breeder can do for a puppy owner is to care for the puppy and give them a healthy, happy, well socialised puppy.

I wouldnt care if I got nothing if I got a healthy, happy puppy!!!!

Breeders shouldnt worry about what they give with a puppy as long as they take care of it, love it, socialise it and, of course, find it the proper home so that it can have a long and happy life with an owner who loves it with all their heart. That is the most important thing IMO!!!! I am sure all the breeders on this forum do that and do that very well indeed!!!

Kind regards
Spettadog

The wormer and the insurance I consider essentail especially for novice owners. Also I make sure they have the food I've been feeding them or theyget a runny tummy.
When I picked Dice up he came with nothing and we were shopping for puppy food at 9 at night, and as it was a Saturday I spent all day Sunday ringing round getting wormers.

The booklets/leaflets regarding care, exercise, feeding etc that I got from both dogs breeders had been typed by them, they weren't "company freebies". The food was what they had both been getting fed-both breeders had just given new owners smaller bags of it to take away.
I also don't think it is about the cost, it's about the time and effort that each breeder puts in-as a new puppy owner it really made me feel that they had each pups best interests at heart.

I'll say it again this thread is not about money its about puppy packs, and whats in them, please stay on topic. If you want to dicscuss how much we make per litter please start a new thread and I'll be more than happy to give you a break down of the money we charged and the outlay of the money we spent.
