GHD = Good Hair Day. They are ceramic irons that heat up to around 200 degrees C. They do straighten mine but if the hair so much as senses a drop of moisture - BOING, up it springs.

So with chemical straightening it must eventually be a bit like a root perm - curly at the roots and then straight. Doesn't it make the hair bush out? Then if you have the roots straightened, is there a danger of overlap and increased fragility? OMG - could end up with one inch long hair. Hey, but it would be straight hair.

My hair is gloriously long and curly however as a change is as good as a rest I had it temp. straightened with styling gels- or something!- and what looked like an iron
My hair looked and felt great but I would a new face to carry it off!
I looked like I imagine Cher would aged 80 with no cosmetic surgery!

My daughter Laura (Lozzy) has got every type of tool for hair possible - her poor hair hasn't got a clue what is coming next. She has got things for straightening, curling or whatever else you can do to it She straightens it every morning before school but then ties it up in a bun type of thing at the back - so goodness knows why she bothers

I think she uses some expensive ones that she got for Christmas that were about £80. She was after some more a few weeks ago though that you could only buy from hairdressers, think they were called GHD or something like that

I got my Mum a pair from eBay, brand new, with a pack of styling products, for £70 inc postage.

Mine were also from eBay, no products though, and cost £75
