In my view there are 2 things of paramount importance (feelings aside)

1. Ensuring public safety
2. Ensuring the dog has a quality of life

To do point one in your current situation (no fence etc) means that you cannot provide point 2

So options:

1. Rehome her
2. Have her PTS

If you cant do point 1 then the only option (emotion aside) is option 2.

I feel truly sorry for your dog as none of this was her fault. I understand it is hard for you and I wouldnt wish it on anyone but you have to take responsibilty for allowing this to happen. Ultimately the buck stops with you as the owner.

I truly hope you're serious about this and not just trying to get people off your case here. I truly hope you're going to try helping this dog as an obligated owner. If so, I wish you good luck. Please try and keep us updated if you can.

i am going to do the best i can; i sold a ring of mine, that was of crummy memories anyway, and am going to buy the muzzle now, and will get the fencing, tonight at home depot with my husband; we can walk her with the muzzle on, and she can go to the bathroom during the day in the small fenced area; the county gives me the signs; i am going to do this, as my heart cannot bear the pain of seeing this dog put down. i have to figure out how to put a pix of her on here; will keep you posted!! lisa

Hi Cld you put a muzzle on, and get to know her body language, you are lucky she hasnt been taken away, which has happened to others. She is not beyond help, just keep an eye on her muzzle her on public street,if she goes somewhere where you can take the muzzle of.These dogs have been demonized by the media, show themthat the breed isnt that bad or scary crystalgirl
