Personally I feel the theatric advert makes ones emotions kick in to feel sorry for this dog & want to help it on a heart not head level & humanise the dog & its emotions..
If the advert had read elderly German Shepherd from a large group of working dogs needs a new home as he is retired from work & owner has no time for dogs not working as he would have to pay to have them looked after because he is not present or even in the country a lot of the time & he feels the dog deserves a bit of individual love & attention. I'm sure a lot of us would feel differently about the situation but sadly the advert as written is going to get far more response from the majority of the general public.
