Raw Eggs...

My dog isn't fed raw, but she gets the odd scrap of raw meat such as chicken skins when I'm cooking..

I have some eggs that are about to go off - can I feed her raw eggs?
How do I do it, just crack it in to her food bowl?
How many eggs is too many for a 13 kg dog?
Is it better to cook them lightly first?

Thanks

I just crack them into Ruperts bowl and he licks them up. Some dogs will crack the eggs themselves but Rupe's clueless if just handed one. If you do just hand them to her make sure not to do it in a carpeted room lol.

I'm not sure how many is too many, I give one at a time.

Thanks I have given her an egg before as someone said they carry them around really gently - thats exactly what she did just pottered around with it then gave it back!

I will have a go at cracking one in and maybe see how that goes with her before giving her any more...

Rupert likes to crunch up the shell and spit it all over the floor if I just crack it and put it in his bowl If I give him one whole he holds it then just puts it down and walks off.

I crack one into Pereg's bowl. If I give her the shell I usually scrungle it up first or she spits lumps out.

Aw bless I think she would do the same - obviously haven't learned its the same thing

Well it went down very very well! I just cracked it in to the bowl and it was gone instantly.

Do you normally give the shell too? Or do you have to cook that bit?

I give my dogs a raw egg daily.

If you dry the shell and powder it (in a coffee grinder) it is a valuable source of calcium.

If they eat the shell whole as it were, it usually comes out the way it went in.

Cain gets one raw egg a week, just cracked into his bowl. I crush the shell up and mix it in his mince.
