Absolutely no idea what you are referring to regarding offending anyone.
I know what it is like when you think that you have just started to cope and then, suddenly, either without warning or triggered by something small & seemingly insignificant to others, you get this huge wave of grief washing over you. Most of us understand that & take no offence at things said under such stress. You will never completely cease to sorrow but, in time, you will come to terms with the loss of Tam, & hopefully the happy memeories will shine through the grief.
My Kate, was ready to go but so reluctant to leave us that we had to get the vet to come out and help her on her way. All stages of death are hard but, apart from actually calling the vet, being with her, holding her, and watching her death, carrying her out to the vet's car, clearing up her toys, bedding, final poos etc., collecting ashes, the thing that really undid me was vaccuuming her footsteps out of the carpet a day or so later. A small thing but so very painful.
The thought of her still brings both tears & smiles. The only fault that you can ascribe to dogs is that their lives are too short. But the blessing of having her in our lives outweighs the deep sorrow of her passing.
Try to be strong for Jasper, try not to let him see that you are upset, and if you need to talk remember you are most welcome to get in touch with me.
