I have fed pigeon although it's not a favourite of theirs so I just tend to use any I acquire for training now.

Flynn wont touch it but both the collies have had pigeon. There always seems to be a hard round bit of the innards that they leave every time, not sure exactly what it is but none of them like it! There have been no side effects and I just tend to get mine from middle of the road!

I've fed it before and with feathers on(unless yoy really want to be plucking a pigeon ), the next doors cat also caught a finch which I didn't have the heart to feed so took it in to the local shelter, where I was told it got rehomed with another

Why do you ask? Has your dog caught one?

Not purposely but Rupert's caught and eaten a couple. Both times he left the feathers in a neat pile, dunno whether dogs will generally eat them or not but he doesn't. He had no side effects from it. Have to say it's rather embarrassing when you're walking across the market and your dog suddenly leaps up and catches himself a snack.

Just make sure if it's shot, that you check it for any pellets; mine have eaten the carcasses of game, without any ill effects, but I generally strip all the best parts off for us first.
