Problems with java and google chrome

ok,i seemed to be jinxed with computers but hey lol.....can anyone shed light on why my java will not work on google chrome but will on ie? ive checked settings and it is enabled and according to java working ... i thought it was the old l/t but nope,on a newer one and its still the same (i only realised yesterday it works on ie
