I agree fair do's to anyone who gets married and good luck to them I say if that's what they want.

But I also agree that it's madness how much was probably spent on it ...

you ask can we afford tax dollar on the security during a recession?
i ask, can we afford not to?
the doom and gloom IS why we needed a national boon

to disregard the emotional and mental wellbeing of the nation this event afforded us is a Tory arguement, in my view: knowing the cost of everything and the value of nothing

Because they're not a normal family-they're royalty you see and born into it.The world expects a big lavish occasion and thats what they should get everytime.

and they didn't ASK to be born into it did they, just like the rest of us didn't ask to be born as we were either.

I agree MonkeyGeneral, it was madness the amount that went into it, but they paid for it, not our problem is it. Same as all those celebs that spend, spend, spend, on lavish occassions, nice to be able to afford it isn't it, you pays your money and you takes your choice!

Same as most directors of large companies then.I work for an American owned global company who's shareholders are fabuously wealthy, but i dont begrudge them one penny (or dollar, yen, euro etc etc).

Would you like to live under a communist regime where everyone earns the same?

This is what I meant when I said whingers but I was told no one was whinging.

the fact of the matter is theres children and people dying every day cause of lack of food why pay for a wedding that doesnt concern you and will never involve you aprt from taking your money send the cash to people who need it help a human being not some money hungry fammily that has no porpouse what so ever robbing us all
Like send my money to some corrupt government overseas who will cream off the money so that the needy see none of it?

I`m glad everyone had a nice time. But it isn`t compulsory that we all think the same, you know.

No it's not awful and it's not compulsory and I am pleased that you are able to follow your own head and heart.

This thread has now got some very nasty elements in it and I don't understand why. Maybe there are some showing their true colours

I don't think it's a case of people being nasty, I just think it's case of differing opinions...

I can find happiness in plenty of other things a wedding however is just a wedding to me. As I said though good luck to them.

That's Steve78 opinion, I can accept that, doesn't mean you have to agree with it though..I understand where Steve78 is coming from, just because they're getting married doesn't mean the world has to stop....Life still goes on.

Some people seem to be judgemental and harsh and dish it out freely but cant accept a persons(their) opinion be it right or wrong, doesn't mean you have to keep hitting a nail on the head with a stick.

The picture was a bit to far, but I guess people have strong views and probably don't find a wedding a big fuss when there's other things going on in the world their life and so on...

That comment was priceless, just slate someone and then comment them on their “lovely rottie”

Anyhow I'm over this thread now, it's pointless to keep going on. The wedding has been and gone.

This is a nasty and uncalled for post and however much your opinion differs from others I cannot understand the need for posting pictures like this.

I'm over it too and out of it.

I agree that picture was totally uncalled for. Who said "the poor are always with us" and also that wars will always be with us because, after all, people make a lot of money out of war.

Whether or not they spent £1 or £1m on their wedding is immaterial, it is their business and would not make one iota of difference to the situations portrayed in that tasteless montage.

I think spending a lot of money on a wedding is a pointless waste of money, but if others want to spend zambillions on theirs then good luck to em; if it makes them happy; after all nobody actually DIED because they got married or because that amount of money was spent.

Thousands of underage children were not flogged to weave the wedding dress fabric; nobody starved in order that they could enjoy their wedding cake!

I watched it, I loved it too, the bride was stunning!!
The Royals may have had a pampered upbringing, but Princess Diana and no doubt Prince Charles have done alot to make sure their sons' have grown up more modernised and aware. If not why do both go to Africa to raise money. They do alot for charity, I believe also the wedding was not a state paid wedding, but paid for mainly by the Middletons and the royal family?
That picture was vulgarity at its worse.... the tourism the wedding brought in generated money for this country. Comic Relief and such charity events raises money for other countries, but hey thats a whole other thread....
Why can't people just accept that it was a lovely wedding for two people who clearly love each other...?? If you didn't like it, then you didn't have to watch it...
