Daily Thread Friday 27th August 2021

Afternoon all
Just been reading that pen farthing has had to leave his rescue cats and dogs behind due to Biden changing paperwork rules 2 hours previously...I feel so sad for that man and his staff, they fought so hard to try and save them all....gutted for them all

Good afternoon Kelly and all who follow

Been busy being a mum. Last night Ben, youngest, was not very well with an enlarge thyroid that he is waiting for an appointment to see a specialist to have removed. His neck was really swollen and causing pain in his chin and ear so took him to A&E. They took blood and said they would keep him in overnight so after waiting for him for two hours went home. Just got in and he messages me to say he was coming home as it was a bank holiday weekend and they could do nothing. Got back home after 2.00am.This morning he gets a call to go to radiology asap so have spent another 1.5 hours waiting. I only got two hours sleep as had to be up by 6.30 to take Teazle out and then take one of the cars in for service and MOT. I now need asleep

Hope all are well. Take care.

Afternoon griff, Sue and all who follow.

Oh gosh Sue what a nightmare. Hope Ben gets the care he needs and feels well soon. Hope you have managed to get some rest.
I agree griff very sad regards Pen Farthing and the situation he finds himself in.

Not long back from vets 3rd Librela injection we are not seeing a lot of difference regards walking but considering there is more than likely underlying factors not surprised.
We have decided to continue with it better for his kidneys but vet has suggested for the next month him taking the Pardale 2 tablets twice daily as well as he seems to have discomfort when rising. We will update her end of September when 4th injection is due.
The stumbling etc., and this morning we turned away for 2 seconds and not sure whether he was trying to cock his leg against the bin on the park or not but his back end had almost collapsed.
Plus he had a big back left leg stumble just before that.
Katherine did the knuckle back paw test left side he didn't correct it, not a good sign. Normally associated with DM but Katherine said it could also be due to lack of muscle he hasn't the strength to correct it, or could be his spine fusing and or discs possibly to.
All in all not a good visit, time is the factor now and considering how quickly things seem to of escalated this week regards his legs I am thinking we are not looking a great deal of time.
For now he eats well and can do bodily functions with no problems, but he is showing signs of ageing and quickly and his joints are really causing him problems now.

Hope people are keeping safe and well today.

Thanks griff and brenda.
Hoping for some good days now he is taking the pardale to. Not sure it will right the stumbling but if it helps with pain I am all for it.

Reminds me of Dillon brenda found it hard to control the tears when talking to the vet.
