Impressed

So tonight, Davie (my son) and I were play fighting in the hall, Dougal starts barking at me and jumping between us and standing right in front of Davie 'protecting' him. Well impressed. We ended up going upstairs so we weren't stressing Dougal, but I was well impressed with Dougal doing that.

I don't want to seem negative but I'd be very careful with this behaviour. The dog could see play between your son and his friends in the wrong light and over react.

I was at a show once and sitting on my dogs bench talking to a friend. A friend of hers came along and started to reach over me to pass her something. In my dogs eyes he was a threat to me and he started to react, as I was facing away from him I didn't see it coming but my friend did and distracted his attention. This was a very friendly dog but he just read a situation wrongly it could have turned out a lot worse.

I agree that it needs to be watched, but like you, am also impressed.

I'm sure you'll be sensible

I was the blond girl with Staffie Rescue hoodie on. My two dogs, Sammie and Angel, were the brutes starting all the trouble Sammie is black and white and Angel is brindle. Spoke to you when we got back to the car park?

Ah yes, I remember, they were nice. Sorry, usually have memory like a sieve. Dougal was very disappointed at not being allowed to run and play
