How do you describe your Dogsey friends to people?

I was telling someone today about my friend who has a new Gordon Setter puppy...the friend of course is Rachelsetters. I nearly launced into a description of how I know her and her pup...but didn't as the bloke I was talking to probably thought I was a bit of a nutter anyway!!!!
How do you describe your Dogsey friends to people?

I try to tell people but they just look at me blank, i think because they have no intrest in dogs/animals unlike me and they dont know what a forum is thicko's

I have tried to explain in the past...but they look at me like I'm a sad nutter...which is fair enough given I am the mad dog woman of the neighbourhood...

I've had the same reaction as Dori-Katie, they look at you as if you are to be pitied as some animal, loving computer geek
Others have asked for the web site address, and enjoyed the site, which is nice to hear.

To anyone else you are "a friend with a such and such dog..."

Hard to explain really, isn't it. And people think you're strange for having internet friends!

I am on another forum (for gardening) and those friends are "... from the Grapevine"!

i tell them you're all nutters, NICE nutters.

seriously though, it's a great site, lots of info, folks only too eager to help, look at the response that ian got yesterday.

and yez have all got a sense of humour.

I have to admit, lately I have referred to people as my 'friends' ....I think many people on here are my friends now anyway!

I tend to say - "from a forum I'm a member of" - but most people I tell are dog owners so slightly loopy and my OH thinks I am already mad!

But like you think there are some people probably would stop and not continue explaining!!!

I don't, your all a big secret lol...Nah seriously if I need to refer to anything on here I will just say what ever it is and that I know of it because of a forum I go to. Then I hope and prey they arn't someone one here so that they can come on and tell you all how naughty me and my dogs are because then my cover will be blown lol

(people i'm close with know you all as such and such with which ever dog from dogweb cuz I still don't call it dogsey in real life)
