Insurance

I have my goldie insured with Petplan for life. At 3 years old the premium has gone up to £25 a month. I have never claimed. I am undecided whether to cancel altogether, go for a basic limited policy or change to Direct Line which is £13.52 with an excess of £160.

Just wondering if anyone has experience of Direct Line pet insurance. I have insured my car with them for years and had no problems.

Does everyone have insurance? With two dogs it becomes so expensive and seems to go up a lot each year.

I insure my 2 older girlies with http://www.vetsmedicover.co.uk/
as the cost always stays the same if you insure them before 8 years old, so I started Cariad and Lona with them last year at 7 years old. It costs me £28 a month each for them, so less than I was paying a few years ago. I have got Mabs insured with another company at the moment for £15 a month, but if it ever goes up beyond £28 then I will move her over to them.

Thanks. I asked for a quote from them and it came up as the full £28 so I would be better with Petplan at the moment.

It could benefit my shepherd as her premium is around £33. She is on the borderline for EPI so I would never cancel her insurance. But I suppose that would be excluded on a new policy.

I didn't have my last two dogs insured and had no need of it as they were both healthy dogs.

Mine have rarely see a vet apart from routine stuff, as they grow older this can change and I have always had these particular 2 girls insured, now I have managed to insure one of their daughters, and hoping to be able to afford to insure the other daughter at some point.
