If your vet says you can give him Piriton, you want the regular and not the non-drowsy version.

You can buy the generic form of Piriton from chemists as Chlorphenamine Maleate as it is much cheaper, but do not tell them it is for a dog as pharmacists will not sell it to you - I believe it is illegal for them to sell human medication for an animal without a prescription from a vet.

I hope poor little Winston is OK and that your cold and cough go quickly.

Okay...turns out it wasn't the vapour rub.
Winston has been on steroids for almost a year now , so he can get infections really easily. He has a small pug acne spot on his nose and the infection from that has travelled up and caused the swelling. So yet more antibiotics for my little guy.
