Typical Tuesday 3rd October 2023

Morning all. Oh how I wish I was around to all of you that have problems with your doglets. It is all very well trying to put into words what to do but that doesn't always work. One has to be on the ground as it were. Anyway have a good day all. Just hope no one is offended by me trying to help.

Good morning all at work this afteroon so here now.

Brenda "Boots on the ground" as they say LOL Hope you have a good day. Has your daughter done anything with her dogs recently a new pup? a show?

Chris he is just a pup and will likely as has been said grow out of it especially the biting bit. Is there a puppy social class by you? would it be worth a try I am not an expert at all with pups especially as most of mine have been rescue oildies/older. He sounds a joy and at least he gives you something to think about. LOL

Lynn Awww Freya days how lovely enjoy are you or are they planning anything for Halloween?

Griff Seems a bit unfair you ahve to go to those lengths to get a diganosis and help medically. Hope you are feeling better with the steriods etc. Did Steve keep the helmet or send it to the back of the cupboard to be forgotten?

Sue Hope you have a fair to good day both weather and work/job wise its raining a bit here.

HAVE A GOOD DAY ALL

I hve just come across a small group (4 people) playing old time rock and roll. Personally I think the sound quality is far better that the original versions

Morning all
Kazz, no, he has returned the helmet and bought a more expensive super duper one. I already had my diagnosis, I already knew I was having a flare up, just needed it confirmed and my treatment sorting out....I am so much better and I have been feeling off since last summer and really really ill since may so I am really narked that they mucked my treatment up.
Chris, I have had all my dogs spayed and neutered at 6 months. That was what rescues wanted then so that's what I did.....if you aren't entirely sure about it all.....what about chemical castration ( you would need to look into that) if I recall, you were a dog trainer/ behaviourist weren't you? Therefore I guess you have tried everything.
Had an emergency dash to the vet, Kota has a wound...god knows where it came from but as bloody nasty, my magic vet has tried to save the skin and avoid surgery so we will see if we can heal it with glue and antibiotics, if not, if it looks infected she will be in Thursday for an op.

Good afternoon brenda, Kazz, Barry, griff and all to follow.
We are not long back from having a trip out to a new shopping village in Ely.
It is a very small space and you park very close so not much walking for Brewster which is a good thing and we had a short wander round and sat and had coffee and cake.
We can't walk him far still due to the pasterns left still a lot worse than the right but we are beginning to see slow improvement. Then we have the radius/ulna problem but the vet did say to exercise still just not too much.
He really needed the change of scenery as did we and thank goodness is still very socialised which we do not want him to lose.

Chris you used to be able to buy discs that you throw on the floor to divert their attention I guess you can still get them.
(Training discs).
Maybe training classes would be good for him if you could find and get to one for the socialisation.
Does he actually act aggressively if he is in close contact with another dog or is it all mouth and trousers and he is actually nervous and getting in first with his stay away from me attitude do you think ?
Have a good day at work Kazz.
griff I hope Kota doesn't need an op.

Good evening all

Lovely morning out

The vet visit went well. Long chat with Ted's vet Lisa. She has advised against castration until he is at least 8 months. She has said she will be prepared for him to have the suprelorin implant if we want to give that a try, but has told me to research it for myself before making a decision which I will be doing tomorrow.

The only training class within reasonable distance here is a yank and jerk merchant and all the others seem only to offer online these days which seems a waste of time to me

He barks and growls when 'some' dogs come near because he wants to say 'hello' but of course not all owners want their dogs to say hello. Hence my view that the problems arise from frustration.

My thoughts on why castration may have helped is that the problem only started a few weeks ago just when testosterone was mounting. He started humping toys, blankets etc at the same time

Lots to consider and lots of thinking to do.
