What breed has risen in popularity the quickest??

I was doing some research on Ddb's and was shocked to see that in 1997 no pups were registered at all yet in 2009 over 2790 were .
That is a huge increase in a relatively short time is it not??
Can you think of other breeds that have done the same??

It's probably going to be the breeds made famous on TV, at least in recent history anyway!

I bet Lassie made a big impact on Rough Collie registrations!

Rottweiler’s in the late 80s and 90s, Border collies in 95/96 when the film babe was released.

I'd never seem a Hungarian Visla before Yogi won Crufts now there are a ton around here....all less than two years old. Hmmmm, I wonder what influenced that....?! Luckily they are lovely dogs and all I've met seem well looked after so have it better than status dogs.

Are there ACTUALLY more or have you just noticed them more, ie whenever I get a new car I always notice the ones like mine!

The Breed Supplements put out each quarter give out that info and I am sure it is on their site if you look re number of registrations per quarter/year compared to previous quarters/years.
