Ginger's first feces checkup

I just finally caught my dog when she went poop and have gathered it to take to the vet tomorrow. Does that need to be refrigerated or can I just leave it out (in the ziplock, plainly marked, bag)? I don't want to refrigerate it and have that ruin it or leave it out and have that ruin it.

Thanks - simple question I know but I couldn't google anything close to just a checkup on the feces.

I guess? You don't take your dog's feces to the vet once a year to check for worms and the like?

I think my vet would go ballistic if I went in and presented him with a bag of s***, if he hadn't asked for it for a specific purpose!

i believe you can just leave it out i had to do this once and the vet told me to not put it in the frig. so im pretty sure as long as its in sometthing and closed it should be fine.

Our vet does annual worm checkups (and no, I don't worm her when it's not necessary). I got a notice in the mail that her checkup for that was due in March but I haven't been able to catch her cuz she goes outside and doesn't go at the same place all the time.

So my vet won't have a conniption because I drop off a bag of poop for them to test

Here in europe we're advized to worm them 3 to 4 times a year, regardless of whether you see any problems or not... Guess it saves the vet sorting through alot of s**t...
