training classes

was just thinking bout indies training class. The last few times we were there, it was just indie and a kelpie x collie. Anyway, they get on great and were allowed to play offlead in the hall for about 10 mins b4 class, practising recall and such.

Anyway, our class did start out with like 15 dogs, but by last few weeks it was just 3 of us. The third was also a kelpie x collie from same litter as other one and every now and again showed up. He shows his teeth alot and appears aggressive. For whatever reason, maybe scared. What i dont get, is this dog, called Joey, always has a disagreement with indie, so they are immediatly seperated to other ends of the hall. I dont understand why there isnt any sort of possibility to try and socialise them. Like, indie is ok, but then she feels threatened, or maybeoverwhelmed cos there are two dogs. But the other dogs growls at her and she goes mental. Would there not have been a way around this without avoiding the situation?

Anyway, ive signed her up for the next lot of training classes to start end of november. so that dog probably wont be there. But im wondering why there isnt much socialisation going on. And then im accused of not controlling her or sumin and this one training, out of 2 that are there looked at us like indie was vicious. She was mega suprised that indie would happily play with the other dog (jess) when they are on their own.

Jen I would think that seperating them is a good idea.

If this dog is aggressive then would you really want Indie to get hurt?

A good owner would avoid a situation where two dogs could hurt each other. I'm not saying your a bad owner I was just generalising

We have to do the same thing in our calss. Jas and another dog are always going hammer and tongs at each other so we have to be seperated too. The only problem is the idiot owner sits right next to the door so we have to go past him to get to our seat.

I'm glad Indie is doing well tho
