thank you mandie

yes it isn,t a very nice feeling is it
sorry none of yours hatched either
do you have a breeding pair then?
we have a pair of eclectus who have laid about 6 eggs but none have never hatched
but we are still very hopeful they will lay for us and give us babies

i,m upset about this egg because we started out with 3 macaw eggs and one got cracked while in the nest, but died 3 days later,so i was really hoping i would have 2 babies at least this year

We bought 3, 2 females and one male, all 3 are grey, and the two paired up, and did what we were hoping they would, but to no avail, but i think they are 2 young as they are both only about 18 months only, i was wondering what had to the broken egg, do they always have such a sm clutch or does it vary? Well i think you are very lucky having sauage and chips (brill names) and all though its sad you lost the other eggs you have a lovely baby to see grow, i am so jealous. lol

mandie yes they do sound very young
dunno about cockatiels but with our big parrots they don,t mature till 5 years old so wouldn,t start laying fertile eggs till then
we think the egg got broken by mum or dad turning it over and a claw caught it
we rushed it to a zoo keeper friend who gave it critical care but it didn,t make it

the normal clutch for macaws is 3 but normally one is not fertile
