When buying Broccoli, snap off the stalk - you'll save about a third!

I started doing this when I noticed the stalks seem to get bigger and bigger! One day I even asked if they would cut it off for me (the staff agreed they were on the large side).

Now I just snap off the stalk myself (and I have noticed that other people have started to do the same).

I think I save about £1 per visit doing this

Sometimes the stalks are bigger than the florets - if they can be cheeky, then so can I

I actually take the tomatoes off the vines as well - well I don't see any point in paying for stuff that you are going to chuck away (especially at £7.49 per KG )
