haha foxy, you make me giggle.

yes they are snails.

giant african land snails to be precise.lol

they are extremely easy to keep and i would highly reccomend them, seeing as i have over a hundred of them.lol

all you need to do to keep them really is a large glass or palstic tank, some peat or i use coir in the bottom for a few inches and maybe a hide.

feed them a constant supply of cuttlefish, keep them mosit, not too wet though and then feed them fruit and veg and they should thrive.

very handeable too.

your 5 year old will love them.

as for girls, i m afraid they are hermaphrodites so are both male and female.lol

so yo ucan call em girls or boys.lol

does mean they do breed too but when they lay eggs you can just throw them away and its fine.

if you want more info then pm me and iwil lfind a caresheet and if yo uwant some i cna sort you out soem babies form a friend or i can put you in contact with some adults if you prefer.

i dont have any babies at the minute unfortunately.

hopefully will soon.lol

Oh I don't know if I can live with a 8 inch snail in the house do they leave a slimy trail on your hands afterwards like a slug does?

I never thought I would say this about snails, but they are lovely! I like the green worm too, has a real cheeky look!!!

Foxy, I don't think there is much Ceiron doesn't know about snails, so you will be able to learn pretty much all you need from him.
